On 5 November 2015, tna announced that leading inserting and labelling company Unique Solutions had joined its family of brands. Along with their industry-revolutionising In-pak® and On-Pak® programmes, Unique Solutions brings a talented team and over 125 combined years of experience in the industry.
Let’s get to know these industry experts as they tell us a little bit more about their background and how they’ve been helping Unique Solutions…
I love to play golf, ride horses and fly aeroplanes…
Joyce Witt
“I started Unique Coupons, which later became Unique Solutions, with a business partner in 1978. I bought my partner out after two years and continued to learn as much as I could about the industry and equipment. The same issues came up over and over again from those who worked in plants, and I thought there had to be a better way to insert things. That’s when our perforated bandolier technology came into play, and it revolutionised the industry in 1989. Today, I spend most of my time on the telephone and sending emails and quotations, as well as meeting people. After all these years, travelling and meeting people globally is still exciting for me!”
I enjoy studying world history and listening to opera and classical music…
Mark Ulan
“At Unique Solutions, I was brought in to streamline day-to-day operations. That was in 1996, and today I still manage day-to-day operations but also work with and support our international network of sales agents. In 2002, I recommended that we develop our own group of sales and service agents. That resulted in sales doubling within two years and growing more than 300% within five.”
I’m very environmentally active and enjoy outdoor activities like kayaking, biking and cross-country skiing…
Debbie Dudeck
“I started at Unique Solutions about two and half years ago and am in charge of customer service/project administration. When projects come through, I attend to the details making sure that nothing is left out and that any changes are pushed through. After going back to college as an adult, it took me a while to find a job, but it was worth the wait to work with the Unique Solutions family.”
My most recent diversion is cars and motorsports…
Tony Nowakowski
“I was recruited to Unique Solutions over 20 years ago by a previous boss of mine. Before joining the family here, my background was in electrical engineering, mechanical design, controls and corporate R&D. With that background, I’ve been able to take on a mix of responsibilities at Unique Solutions as the Vice President of Engineering & Technology. Each day is an interesting combination of design, production/service assistance, customer/sales support and IT.”
My children are the centre of mine and my wife’s world and neither of us would change a thing…

“I officially joined Unique Solutions less than a year ago as their National Sales Representative to increase our national brand awareness. But I was working with Unique Solutions on projects for three years before that and actually started out as a customer. Because of that, I had a close relationship with the entire Unique Solution family, so it was an easy decision to join when the opportunity arose.”
I love building fireplaces, including taking old grills and making fire places out of them…

“I’ve been working with Unique Solutions for over 20 years and in the industry for over 35 years, but recently joined Unique Solutions and tna full-time as Technical Support Engineer. My background is in engineering and R&D in labelling, so technical service suits me perfectly. I am looking forward to getting out there and helping our customers. Throughout my career, customers have been able to count on me around the clock. It won’t be any different now.”
